A recent Which? report on boiler safety uncovered some of the dangerous mistakes made by engineers during boiler services. Faulty boilers can be incredibly dangerous, so it is essential that services are carried out properly. The report found that eight out of ten engineers did not complete minimum checks, including removing the boiler cover.
The good news is, you can ensure that your boiler is serviced properly using the following methods. Making sure the engineer is Gas Safe approved is a good first step. The report also found that nine out of ten people would save money by paying for services and repairs as they happen, rather than taking out a boiler servicing contract. The average price for one boiler service is £70.
